Who we are
Dominic McKenzie founded the firm in 2011, fresh off the back of working on the award-winning Accordia housing project in Cambridge, which won the 2008 RIBA Stirling Prize. The firm is based in Islington, North London, but operates across London, and indeed the entire country.
As well as running an award-winning firm, Dominic also has experience as an academic, judge, and critic. From 2011 to 2014, he lectured at the Birmingham School of Architecture on the Master of Architecture course, and has also lectured at the University of Westminster and the University of Miami. He has also been a judge of the National Housing Awards for eight years.
What we do
We utilise our creative skills to create contemporary, modern designs that remain true to historical contexts. If hired to work on an old property with hundreds of years of history, we always create something that stays true to the original architect’s intention. We are here to accentuate, rather than tear apart, what has come before us.
Our Process
We offer a fully bespoke service that puts our clients’ wishes first every step of the way.
After you contact us, we’ll arrange a site visit and a consultation. After this, we will provide a quote. Once this is accepted, we get to work. At every stage of the process, whether it’s planning, production of construction drawings, or the construction phase, we keep you fully up to date with the process and offer you the chance to have input right up until the very end.
Once construction is complete we carry out a quality assurance phase, to ensure that every facet of the build meets our high standards. Then, once that is complete, we take photos for awards consideration and hand the keys back over to you
